Wraparound

FamilyHand in Hand's Wraparound is a process that helps your family handle your child's behavior, allowing you to work as a team with professionals and others who can provide you with support. Families who participate in Wraparound receive help finding the services their children need, coordinating services between different agencies ... and much more.

With Wraparound, a trained facilitator helps families find their strengths, develop goals, and build a team that will help them achieve those goals. Families are the primary focus of Wraparound, and play an important role in the way their team works. Ultimately, these families will be able to run their own teams. Once the goals and team members are established, the facilitator will hold a meeting. Team members will look at the family's goals and help them meet those goals, often in ways the families never thought possible.

Father and Son

Sometimes families feels they do not have people who can or will participate on a team. However, the facilitator will help these families discover support they might not even know they have. Team members might include caring friends and relatives, someone from the faith community, teachers and others in addition to professionals who are working with the child. No one will be invited to the team meeting, however, without the family's approval.

In addition to helping families set and meet goals, Wraparound facilitators can also coordinate services among multiple agencies that may be working with a family. When different agencies see what the others are doing and requiring, it can make life much easier for the family.

Families eligible for Hand in Hand Wraparound must have children between birth and age 6, and they must live in Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker or Tarrant County outside of Fort Worth. Services are provided regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, immigration status or citizenship.
